Looking over the galleys on my computer. What to choose for tonight's first reading in Phoenix?

Today’s New Beginning just happened to me. And I did nothing to ask for it. It was like grace. Unmerited and free.

Did you know that when you pre-order a book on Amazon you can share the news on Facebook and Twitter?  Today one of my Facebook friends, Renee Nofzinger Quistorf, did that. Then she tagged me to tell me. Thanks, Renee!

Renee’s grace-ful gift emboldened me to ask for your help as I continue to run the race to the book marathon finish line.

Quite a few people have told me they can’t wait to read my memoir. I’m excited to know that. I’ll have to admit, I’m a little scared also.

A memoir is a present you wrap up for the world. Then you hold your breath to see if anyone cares.

In hopes that at least a few of you will care deeply, I have a request.

I’d love for you to pre-order Blush. Now.

You can do it in one of two ways. Either at the Herald Press website (take advantage of the 30 percent off convention discount and no shipping charges!) or on Amazon: Blush.

The price is low, less than $15, no matter which way you go.

Why pre-order instead of just waiting until after September 19, the launch date?

Reason #1. Amazon gauges the amount of the books they stock based on the pre-publication interest. No author wants to be embarrassed by inadequate stock in the first crucial few weeks after publication. With more than a million books being sold every year, many readers, with so many options, will go elsewhere when they encounter that problem.

Reason #2. Pre-ordering allows you to be among the very first readers of the book. If there is a critical mass of early readers, and if they love the book, their Amazon and Goodreads reviews will help spread the word to other readers.

Reason #3. Pre-ordering increases the chance that the Longhouse Project at the Hans Herr Museum will benefit from the sale of this book. I plan to contribute royalties to this project. (I’ll be writing more about it later).

71 Days until Blush Launches

I hope your New Beginning today is pre-ordering Blush. Just click on this link and go. But any New Beginning is a chance to win the prizes. Just fill in the form here.

I’d love to hear from you and thank you in person if you’ve pre-ordered.

And blessings on your day no matter what!
