Theresa Goyette Ceniccola

Let me introduce you to Theresa. She’s kind, spunky, creative, and playful. Can’t you just see all of these things in her face? She’s also a mom and a very savvy business woman who takes her faith seriously.

We met two years ago at a conference and have kept in touch online.

Theresa describes herself as a “Mentor to Moms Who are Running a Business that Supports Faith and Family.”

She asked me if I would be willing to choose a Bible verse for the year 2013 and explain my choice to her readers.

I converted her questions into contemplations on the theme of my book. I will write these two verses on a card and place them next to my new book cover poster. As I make final revisions in the next six weeks,  I will ask the Creator of All to guide me into the broadest, deepest, and highest language for my story and to make it our story.

To find the verse I chose and its relationship to my work, please visit Theresa’s site here. Do you agree that Romans 8:38-39 combines power and love and therefore offers a “contemplative bang”? Have you picked a “scripture” (feel free to define loosely if poetry or other quotes fit your need) verse for 2013?

I love your verses and the meaning that they bring to your life. May they guide you through a wonderful and peaceful 2013! I’m so glad that I found you in 2012, and I look forward to the publication of your book!

My theme for 2013 is :”Letting go.” There are so many things that I need to let go of so that the good can truly come into my life. You’ve inspired me to choose a verse or bit of poetry to help me in that process.

Thanks, Tina.I hope you find just the right words to guide you on this year’s journey around the sun. And I am so glad also that we found each other this year. I cheer you on as you Let Go. And I offer you one of my own favorite poems, which might be just the thing you need to inspire you:http://www.panhala.net/Archive/In_Blackwater_Woods.html

Many thanks for sharing your verses and your thoughts as you contemplate the next weeks. I have not considered those verses from that perspective, having focused in the last number of years on the “neither death, nor life, will be able to separate us from the love of God” phrase. I’m actively pondering a new encounter with the passage.

The Mary Oliver poem is one of my favorites. I’m off to read Tina’s post…

Thanks, Kathleen. These verses could fill many hearts with strength and joy and under widely varying circumstances. I’m not surprised to learn that they have brought great sustenance to you also. Happy New Year!

This challenges me to identify a verse. But for the past several years I’ve had my own mantra. Forgive. Love. Create.

Seems like you should have lots of verses to choose from, especially on Forgive and Love. I’ll have to use a concordance to see what’s there on Create. After Genesis I and 2, that is. 🙂

      Love the mantra.

Shirley, When I read this piece I immediately thought of my daughter, who is busy raising three boys while trying out different ways to make money. She would love to see Theresa’s blog, so I’ll send it. A verse that has spoken to me so much these days is Psalm 119:105 “Your Word is a lamp unto my feet, a light to my path.” I picture holding a flashlight, right down in front of my feet, showing me my next steps, rather than shining it off ahead in the distance, and possibly tripping over a rock or a branch.

Linda, Theresa is leading a “mompreneur” movement that might be the perfect place for your daughter to connect. Glad you sent the link to her, and I can highly endorse Theresa as a wise leader.

The image you offer of the light, like a flashlight, on the immediate path ahead is just the perfect companion to my own expansive verse incorporating all.

We need light on the path for the next step. We need the conviction that Love is all around us in order to believe in the step beyond.

Blessings on your 2013 path and thanks for the comment.
