This will be short, folks! I have a very important job to do today. This is the deadline for returning my manuscript to the Herald Press editor so that he can implement the print schedule.

So many stages in the production of a book!

And it’s scary to find corrections even at the end when you double check a fact one more time. If that can happen, how many more little devils might slip past all the eyeballs working to keep them out??

Ah well, time to just keep going, or as the Brits say, Keep Calm and Carry On.

From last year's pilgrimage trip.

79 days until Blush launches

That’s my New Beginning. Finishing the proofreading and turning over the text.

What’s yours? We have been at this for more than 20 days now!

So true, Tina. Seeing that 7 show up in the number made publication seem very real this morning. Thanks so much for your encouragement. Here’s back at ya for a very good day yourself. Hope it is full of wonderful New Beginnings.

Oh, GULP! Such a big moment. You’ve done what you can. It will be great. Can’t wait to read and review! BTW, I just finished reading Saloma Miller Furlong’s memoir, Why I Left the Amish. Wow! Thanks for pointing it out. She is one gutsy gal. I think yours will be quite different, but equally compelling.

GULP indeed, Sharon. I’m glad you read Why I Left the Amish. And you assume correctly that my story will be quite different. Thanks so much for wanting to read and review. That’s wonderful! Thank you.

Shirley, congratulations on reaching this momentous occasion. Butterflies and missed edits are likely common to all writers at this stage of the game. I wait patiently to reach this point with my memoir. Look forward to reading and reviewing!

Thanks, Sherrey. It’s good to hear these words of consolation. Your interest in reading and reviewing touches and encourages me. And I love the idea that my experience can benefit you as a writer also. Thank you.

We’ll have to toast that idea, Joan. And the same for you!

    Hi Shirley,
I’ve written six books and none of them are error free even though each was “proof read” four or five times, by different folks.

If I ever find a book that does not contain at least one error I’ll be suspicious that it was written by someone from another planet. Just try to remember that “to err is human”!

My daughter works for a “short run” printer and she claims that there is no such thing as a book without errors!

Well, Ray, I’ve evidently been very human. Wow. I see so many new things in this last round. As my mother would say, “Ai, yi, yi.”

It’s time to quote scripture! One you will remember:

“She has done a good thing.” Mark 14:6
